Photography, interviews, layout of the books
Interested in the issues of the world, my question is how migration is experienced in a family when all the children move away from their country of birth and to other continents. And it is my concern to portray people from different walks of life and countries in their individuality. If possible, creating connections (visual and content) and working serially.
The project started in 2011 through contact with two families (Cameroon, Zanzibar). So far two books have been created for the Zanzibari family, an installation with telephone, sound and pictures for the family from Cameroon for the exhibition “Heimat — (k) ein Ort” in the KunstForumEifel Gemünd: the interviews of the family from Cameroon are to hear in a loop on the telephone (on the subject of home). Next to the phone is a “phone book” with the translated interviews and portraits of the family.
